Finished

The towels are finished. They shrank significantly in the wash, as expected, which really made the waffling pop.

Final Weft

I’m on the last weft now. Green this time.

A bought a new stool for my loom. It’s much more confortable. I’m hoping this will help with the amount of time I can weave before I have to take a break.

Third Weft Colour

Here’s the third waffle weave towels weft. The off-white really brightens up the other colours.

Next Weft Colour

And here is the orange weft about 1/3 completed. It’s interesting to see what a difference a different weft colour makes.

Towels update

I’ve finished the first towel.

The next one will have an orange weft instead of burgundy.

Finally!

I seem to have angered the weaving gods. It took me three tries to get the warp on properly. Everything from mixed up threadings to broken ends. Still, having paid my dues, the warp is on and weaving has commenced.

I’m using the waffle weave draft from Hacyon Yarn and 8/2 cotton in natural, burgundy, rust and green.

I’ve never done waffle weave before – I’m looking forward to seeing how these look after finishing.
