Waffle Weave Towels In Progress
After a nightmare warping session (I miscounted my heddles) I’m finally able to start weaving. This is good. I need to finish these before Christmas.
Summer Days Waffle Weave Towels
I’ve started my next set of towels – A white, blue, and yellow waffle weave. This combination always reminds me of fresh summer days.
Finished
The towels are finished. They shrank significantly in the wash, as expected, which really made the waffling pop.
Final Weft
Next Weft Colour
And here is the orange weft about 1/3 completed. It’s interesting to see what a difference a different weft colour makes.
Finally!
I seem to have angered the weaving gods. It took me three tries to get the warp on properly. Everything from mixed up threadings to broken ends. Still, having paid my dues, the warp is on and weaving has commenced.
I’m using the waffle weave draft from Hacyon Yarn and 8/2 cotton in natural, burgundy, rust and green.
I’ve never done waffle weave before – I’m looking forward to seeing how these look after finishing.
