Coronation Garb Progress

My coronation garb is coming along.

The jacket is partially constructed.  I’m just waiting on the ribbon ties to arrive in the mail before I can sew the jacket and lining together.

The kirtle is boned and I’m now attaching the skirt to the bodice.  I’ve been taking photos as I go and should hopefully have a “how to” write up for my website once I’ve finished.

Coronation Garb Progress

The jacket fabric and lining is cut and partially sewn together. The kirtle bodice is stitched and ready for boning. It’s all coming together nicely.

I’ve ordered some white silk ribbon for the tie closures on my new linen jacket. The plan is to do them like the ties in the photo below. Adorable, no?

Coronation Garb

Now that camping season is over (for me), I’m going to focus on the next big event – Coronation.  I want a new outfit.

The plan?  A boned kirtle in bright red, and a black and white striped Layton jacket (lined in the same red).

I should be able to get it done in time if I don’t get distracted.
